Most South African consumers found errors that could affect their credit scores in one of their credit reports, Many have contacted us about the incorrect credit report and we disputed the mistakes on their behalf, the disputed items where taken off within 30 days. Incorrect information on your credit reports could lead to lower credit scores and impact your ability to open a new credit account or get a loan. 

Here are the 5 steps to take

1 - Sign a power of attorney giving us permission to act on your behalf c
2 - You send or we pull up your credit report from 3 credit bureaus companies(xds, experian and transunion)
3 - We evaluate your credit bureau report and inform you of how we can correct the report  
4 - Review the results of the investigation and confirm if you want us to go ahead and file the dispute
5 - Check for updates to your credit report after 21 working days

Bottom line

If you identify incorrect information on your credit reports, it’s crucial to dispute it immediately with consumer reporting agency such as our selves. Down the line, negative or incorrect identity-related information — like a misspelled name, wrong address or wrong ID number digits — can affect your ability to open accounts, to get credit cards, loans, insurance and even a job.
